A space could be finished on paper, but can feel like something’s missing...
Can’t put your finger on it? Here’s some tips on interior detailing which could make ALL the difference.

- Plants, plants and more plants! Never underestimate the power of plants in an interior. It’s the easiest win to bring a new dimension into a room. It instantly makes the space feel more inviting, lived-in and homely plus that instant addition of green hues connects with nature and the outdoors, bringing a new found freshness to the space
- Calling all bookworms! Making coffee table books available for yourself or visitors to flick through, is an easy pastime activity and even a conversation starter! I tend to switch up my coffee table books to provide new areas of interest, and each gives a slightly different appeal as every book cover varies in style and brings with it a slightly different take to the display
- Statement 'wow' pieces! Dot around inspiring pieces of art, sculptures, and / or interior accessories and decorative items in your space. They will delight the senses with interesting visual stimulus, and create mini “stories” as you explore the space
- Movement keeps things fresh! I have a tendency to move accessories around within a space, but also from room-to-room. My husband thinks I’m nuts but… I like switching things up! Slight changes to a space can keep it feeling fresh and up your enjoyment levels. Life after all, is not stagnant - so why not breathe movement and variety into your most loved spaces!
- The magic of metal! Want to elevate a space? Introduce some metallic finishes! Be it accessories, a table lamp, frames, or artwork with metallic swooshes - it can really make your space shine. Brushed or shiny, with a range of metallic colours to choose for your scheme, get shimmering!
- Fabric switch-ups! A wonderful way to add colour and pattern into a space is with cushions, throws and other fabric accessories. It's the easiest way to inject colour, different materials and finishes to a room and can make a huge difference to the overall look and feel. Don’t underestimate the power of a good cushion!! And when you've settled on a theme, switch it up every 6 months for a different look. It's easy to do and can keep your space feeling fresh - think seasonal changes which inspire your soft furnishings...
Right off you go… get detailing!
